Barcelona a Family Friendly City
29/10/2023BECOME A RESPONSIBLE TRAVELER!
At Casa Jam Barcelona we promote socially and environmentally responsible tourism, opposed to the mass tourism Barcelona has been experiencing in recent years. We seek integration with the community to generate a positive impact that benefits the neighbourhood and we manage our small business following Sustainable Development Goals.
We think it is important to generate environmental awareness and respect for the places we visit, so here you have:
10 tips to become a responsible traveler!

1-WHILE PACKING YOUR SUITCASE, THINK RESPONSIBLE!
Don’t forget a cloth shopping bag and a bottle to reuse. You will need them!

2-RESPECT THE COMMUNITY, BE PART OF THE CITY!
Learn about your host community, respecting its values and traditions. Take care of your neighbours, their rest and their daily way of life.

3-CONSUME AND DISCOVER THE LOCAL FLAVOUR.
Enjoy the local gastronomy and commerce, consume fresh food and local products to become a responsible traveler!

4-CHOOSE RESPONSIBLE ACCOMMODATIONS!
Prioritize places that are integrated into the community and that work with local, social and sustainable economy.

5-REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE!
Buy only what is essential and recycle and reuse as much as possible!

6-MOVE WITH CLEAN TRANSPORTATION.
Use non-polluting transport, such as the metro, bicycles, ecological scooters, etc. Remember that Barcelona has a large network of bike lanes, take advantage of them!

7-TAKE CARE OF THE CITY.
Keep the city clean: if you smoke don’t throw your cigarette butts on the ground, if you go to the beach pick up your waste!

8-SAVE ENERGY AND WATER.
Natural resources are more important than ever, so try not to waste them. Use as few washing machines as possible, take short showers, don’t waste water while brushing your teeth, etc.

9-VISIT NATURAL SPACES.
Respect and take care of nature and its biodiversity. Another advantage of the Catalan capital is the large number of natural sites it has. Mountains, squares, parks, the coast… Maybe it’s time to turn off your cell phone, grab a good pair of shoes and discover all these green places within the city.
