This small, social and ecological accomodation has been possible thanks to our families, friends and collaborators.

We are Lucia and Damià, the founders of Casa Jam. We met while studying a Master’s degree in Environmental Education and Management at the University of Barcelona. That’s when, after many conversations, the first seed of the project came up. The adventure began with an old leather tanning warehouse that was renovated with sustainability criteria throughout 2013 to become a family hostel. After intense months, a lot of effort and with the indispensable help of friends and family, Casa Jam (formerly JAM Hostel) opened its doors in June 2014, with the purpose of being an integrated accommodation in the neighborhood and to contribute to the promotion of socially and environmentally responsible tourism in the city.

Unfortunately, in March 2020 we were forced to temporarily close our accommodation due to the COVID pandemic19. This “free time” gave us the opportunity to think about the future of our project and mark the key points of an evolution related to hosting a larger number of families, couples and groups or professionals from social, environmental, artistic entities, cultural or research. In this sense, and after a few months of work to adapt the rooms and facilities to the needs of the new guests, in May 2022 the doors of the hostel reopened under the name of Casa Jam.
